Killed Anyone

Faith is wonderful; we use faith everyday of our lives. We have faith in our postal service. We write a letter, sign it, seal it and drop it in the box. We have faith that the letter will be delivered. We have faith in our bank. We go to work, work all week get paid and put that money in our bank and leave with confidence.  We have faith in Doctors, Nurses, Medicines, Operations, in Treatments, why we even have faith in a coke machine. Put our money in, push a button and expect a coke. All that I’ve just mentioned is us putting faith in people and the things we have invented or organized. Now putting Faith in God or this man Jesus Christ is another story. We see others that have put their faith in Jesus, and we think; “Well, I just don’t know about me!” Here is what happens, it is called doubt. We don’t have doubt in the coke machine or the postal service but when it comes to this thing about my sins being forgiven; well, that’s another story. You see God will never forgive me for what I have done. That’s a lie; let me ask you a question. Have you ever killed someone? I mean premeditated, planned it out and then done it yourself or have it done? You say “Why, heavens no!” Well King David did.
2Samuel11:15  And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uriah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die. What did you say, David? Did I understand you right; put Uriah on the front lines in the heat of the battle and leave him there by himself! He will surely be killed. Yes, David knew that and the reason he allowed that to happen was to cover up his sin with Uriah’s wife. Guess what; God forgave David of his awful deeds. So why can’t we put our trust in a God like that? We can if we will just overcome that doubt in our hearts. I have found that too many are waiting on that last minute when they can ask God to forgive them like the dying thief that day on Calvary’s hillside. Yes, and if you mean it like that thief did God will do the same thing for you as He did that day because the Bible says
Romans 2:11 For there is no respect of persons with God. There are a few problems with that line of thinking. What if you are in an automobile accident? You may not have time! What if you have a heart attack? You are here one minute and the next you are gone without notice! I am sure you can think of many, many more times when you just wouldn’t think of asking God to forgive you. Don’t wait! For the Bible says
Hebrews 4:7…. To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. I am glad I didn’t let my past get in the way of my future. As Dr E.V. Hill so plainly said “What He’s done for others He’ll do for you!”
