Twenty Dollar Bill

It's a story about a twenty dollar bill. It was asked "what good things have you done?" Well the twenty dollar bill said "there was this time I bought medicine for a sick child." Very admirable I must say. Oh that's not all there was this time I bought food for a hungry family and another time I bought clothes for an elderly man. Then a newborn baby was without formula because the mother had no money; well I bought the formula for that newborn. Now that's a wonderful story a twenty dollar bill doing good things. But while out on his adventures the twenty dollar bill made its way to the bank and there something happened and this twenty dollar bill had to be taken out of service. What could have possibly happened at the bank to have this done to this good twenty dollar bill taken out of service? Well after close examination it was discovered that this twenty dollar bill was a counterfeit. Although this twenty dollar bill had done wonderful things it was really worthless and sent to the furnace to be burned up with other counterfeits. What a good story with a sad ending. But wait, the Bible has a similar story read it for yourself… Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Matthew 7:19
Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:21
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of
heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

Matthew 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Just like the twenty dollar bill doing good things; the only problem was that on the day of examination it was found that this twenty dollar bill was not real no matter how much good he had done and was cast into the furnace. Like many people today they are doing a bunch of good things. Why they are members of a Church and everything. The only problem with that is that good things are simply only good things and they will never help on judgment day. Here, like the twenty dollar bill it will be a bad day for them; let me show you… Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. What will be important…? Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; We all do good things from time to time but it's not what we do that's good nor is it about what we do that's bad. But it is about who we know and the one we must know is Jesus Christ. 1John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 1John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
That's simple enough those that have the Son have life and miss the furnace!
