"Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience. You need experience to gain wisdom." ~Albert Einstein ~

1 Thessalonians 3:1 (KJV) Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;                                                                                         1 Thessalonians 3:2 (KJV)  And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:

Why did Paul think it best to send unto them Timotheus? Because of what happened at Jason’s house back in Acts 17. When Paul came into Thessalonica he went into the  synagogue of the Jews and 3 Sabbath days reasoned with them out of the Scriptures.            Acts 17:3 (KJV) Opening and alleging, that Christ must needs have suffered, and risen again from the dead; and that this Jesus, whom I preach unto you, is Christ. When Christ is preached people get saved and here is no different because in Verse 4 we read  Acts 17:4 (KJV) And some of them believed, and consorted with Paul and Silas; and of the devout Greeks a great multitude, and of the chief women not a few. Watch what happened. We read “some of them believed” then theses some told others and then it was a great multitude and then some of the wives of prominent men got saved.  Then what happened?  The Jews which believed not, started an uproar; no that’s not right, prominent people don’t do stuff like that they get others to do it for them.  They formed a mob, and started a riot in the city. They attacked Jason's home and searched it for Paul and Silas and when they didn't find Paul and Silas, they dragged Jason and some other believers in front of the city officials. Acts 17:5 (KJV) But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. Jason is in trouble because  he let Paul and Silas come into his home. So what’s the big deal? The big deal is that they referred to Jesus as King. Long story short Paul and Silas had to get out of town. Now Paul is telling those in Thessalonica that he is sending Timotheus for this purpose 1 Thessalonians 3:2 (KJV) And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith: There’s not a person who has accepted Jesus Christ and their Savior that hasn’t needed to be Establish and Comforted. Galatians 6:1 (KJV) Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Timothy encourages and gives comfort to those at Thessalonica in their faith. If we are not careful we will let the troubles around us draw us away from the truths in God's Word. Remember Peter? He walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus and focused on the storm. Then he started sinking and would have been consumed by the storm had he not corrected his vision and cried out for help.
