What did Jesus have to say about what John said? John said “we forbad him, because he followeth not us.” Mark 9:39 (KJV) But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.
Mark 9:40 (KJV) For he that is not against us is on our part. If they aren’t against us then don’t waste your time fighting them. What a great tactic. If the enemy can get fighting going on within the people they are wanting to conquer. All they have to do is sit back and wait. So don’t lose sight of the main goal, don’t forget the main goal Luke 19:10 (KJV) For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Jesus explains how important it is to reach the lost. It is better for one to cut off their hand, their foot even pull out one of their eyes than go into hell.
Mark 9:43 (KJV) And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mark 9:45 (KJV) And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mark 9:47 (KJV) And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Why? Because it’s a place of no death, no comfort, all one has to do is read Luke 16 verses 19-31 for there we are told of a man who is now there in this place called hell. Notice what else we are told about this awful place. Three times we read these words “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” Watch out, for what your hands are reaching for, where your feet are taking you and what your eyes are looking at.
II John 2:15 (KJV) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
II John 2:16 (KJV) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
II John 2:17 (KJV) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Don’t get so involved in preparing for the future that you forget the present. Your children will grow up faster than you think. Your health will decline sooner than you could ever imagine. One day you will realize that your strength is leaving you without your permission. Your mind! Well that’s a gamble. In this life. I have noticed you lose your mind or your body, very few get to keep both. I know it sounds like I’m saying don’t prepare for your future. But that’s not at all what I’m saying. Yes, prepare for your future here, but not to the point that’s all you are doing. Proverbs 27:1 (KJV) Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. And yes prepare for your eternal future. In other words don’t forget you won’t always be here. Don’t get so involved here that you forget that one day you’ll be leaving here. I remind you of the warning of Luke 16:28 (KJV) For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” That’s what happens when you get to busy chasing the carrot 🥕 🏃♂️
