10 Times More

Proverbs 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
#1 Hell and destruction are never full;
Isaiah 5:14    Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.
Hell is mention 54 times in the Bible 31 times in The Old Testament and 23 times in the New Testament.
That interested me, if "hell" is named 54 times how many times is "Heaven" mentioned?
583 times in the Bible, in the Old Testament 327 in the New Testament 256.
We are told more than 10 times about "Heaven than about "hell" yet we are not told that "Heaven" has enlarged herself. Maybe Jesus knew what He was talking about when He said;
Matthew 7:13    Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14    Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The things of Heaven should be 10 times more interesting to us that the things of hell. But that is not the case, the evil things seem to draw us. We think more stuff, another wife or husband will satisfy but it’s not the things we can obtain for we are plainly told;
#2 the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Quit thinking something other than Jesus will satisfy for if we keep longing for that which we don't have we'll never see what we can have; "JESUS!" He will satisfy 10 times more than anything we could think up or have in this life.

Rewards

Proverbs 26:10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
The phrase "Great God" is mentioned only 8 times in the intire word of God. In this verse we see that the "Great God" that formed; wait I don't want to let the word "FORMED" get by me. First time we see the word "FORMED" is in
Genesis 2:7    And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.Let me not forget who formed me, for there is the possibility of doing so.
Deuteronomy 32:18    Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
How could such a thing happen? The verse says by becoming unmindful. The word "unmindful" means UNMINDFUL ➡Not mindful; not heedful; not attentive; regardless; as unmindful of laws; unmindful of health or of duty. I come to the place in my life that I'm not Attentive, not  bearing in mind; heedful; observant of what God wants to do or has done in my life. It's God that has made us;
Psalms 100:3    Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Let us not be unmindful and forgetful of the God who loved us and gave Himself for us.
Does God honor our choices in life by rewarding our foolishness and sin?
Hebrews 2:2    For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Hebrews 2:3    How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
Receive the Gift of God receive its rewards.
Refuse the Gift of God receive its rewards.

Sweet Talk

Proverbs 25:16 Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it
Proverbs 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory.
Honey is something sweet that is found; it is sweet to the taste as well as good for the body. The Danger is eating to much; way to much to the point of throwing it up. We are warned twice In one chapter not to eat to much honey that its not good for us to do so
To find one must first be looking. Honey is sweet; could this be implying that I should be looking for the good in others? At the same time don't over do the kindness I find. For we are told its not good to over do.
This honey can be for our good or it can also work for our demise as in the case of the strange woman
Proverbs 5:3-For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: Sweet words may lead me to do that which is right or to that which is wrong. Be careful who I allow to sweet talk me!

Bountiful Eye

Proverbs 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
BOUNITFUL➡ Free to give; liberal in bestowing gifts and favours;
The word we shouldn't miss is "eye" it's the person who sees with his eyes and feels with his heart. It's the one who is content and thankful for how The Lord has blessed them. His eye is not looking for what makes life better for him but sees the needs of others and then gives gifts and favours.
Is this not what Christ has done for you and me?
Matthew 8:20 And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
Matthew 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Do I see with a bountiful eye or is my eye sight going over the heads of those whom I could help.
What about that cashier at the retail store, could I say a kind word to them? What about that person everyone else avoids, could I do something nice for them? It's when I see the needs of others and then react in a positive way toward them. It's a kind word, a pat on the back, asking and caring about someone’s family. The power of my eyes, the power of my talk, and the power of my actions will result in a bountiful gift to others. Do I have a bountiful eye or do I have a limited eye?

No Victory in The Horse

Proverbs 21:31 The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the Lord .
The thought of battle and being prepared for the day of battle and the confidence put in the horse in the day of battle. But the horse, no matter how well it has been trained for the day of battle and no matter now secure one may feel about their horse it's no sure thing for safety. The word "BUT" means ➡Except; besides;unless.
The horse is prepared for battle and the warrior must not put their confidence in the horse for victory it’s not in the horse; victory is in Lord. So when the battles come in my life what am I counting on for the victory? Is it in my abilities? The tools I have places within my mind? No! It should be none of these; my confidence should be in The Lord and in what He can do in and through me. Just as David when he met the giant, his safety was not in his sling and the 5 smooth stones or his past victories but in The Lord.
1 Samuel 17:45-Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the ] Lord[ of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.]
1 Samuel 17:46-This day will the Lord deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel.
It was The Lord that gave David the Victory. Not one time did David give credit to his sling or stones. Who do I expect my victories to come from?

Useless

Proverbs 11:4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death. Two things which are useless;
#1-"Riches profit not"
Riches, being wealthy we think it's wonderful, people play the lotto to become, wealthy, others gamble in hopes that one day they too become wealthy. Question; does wealth buy happiness? Does wealth buy health? Oh no, in most cases wealth destroys happiness as well as health, it destroys homes and families and will be useless on the day of judgement. So why do so many chase after it? In verse 5 we see the second:
#2- "The wicked shall fall"
It's not might fall or should fall but SHALL FALL.  There is no might about it the wicked will fall. Wickedness has such excitement about it; it is so inviting. Here we have the picture of an object running toward the side of a cliff and soon it will plunge over its side. Once that happens there will be no return. It seems exciting to be with the strange man or woman, use drug, drink alcohol, and a host of other wicked things that becomes pleasurable to, our flesh. But the end results, failure and if not corrected by salvation an eternity in Hell. A falling by their own wickedness but salvation comes not by our own righteousness but by the righteous of Christ. Putting trust in ourselves will end up in Self destruction. Putting trust in Jesus Christ is the wisest decision one could ever make. We trade a life of wickedness which will come to an awful end for a life with Jesus Christ  that will come to life here after in His presents.
Proverbs 11:5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

His Word Her Word

Proverbs 7:1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.
Proverbs 7:2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
Proverbs 7:3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
It's, KEEP my words, it's, Keep my commandments, it's, BIND and WRITE. In other WORDS it's work to keep wrong thoughts that will lead to wrong actions out of our mind and also out of our heart. In verse 5 we read;
Proverbs 7:5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.
What was interesting I read the phrase "That they may keep thee from" The word "MAY" jumped out at me; what does the word MAY mean? To be possible, is possible to be. If I am going to keep myself from falling into traps I must know what the traps are. In order to know the traps that will attack my spiritual life I must know what to look for. I must keep putting and allowing Gods word in my heart to control my thoughts on a daily routine. Principle #1- If Gods against it so am I." How will I ever know what God is against if I don't know His Word or His Commandments? If I allow other things to take my personal time with The Lord then it "MAY BE" possible to keep me from the set traps. Something else I noticed was in Verse 1 it was "My son, keep my words" then in verse 5 it was "flattereth with her words" it was either God's words or Fattering words!
In verse 25 the word "DECLINE" jumped out at me Decline means To lean downward; we are being warned not to let our heart lean downward toward wrong pathways.
Proverbs 7:25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. What happens when one leans? They go astray. "Out of the right way or proper place" how does one end up in the wrong place? Simple; allowing other things to take over our daily personal time with The Lord. His Word or in the case before us her word?

Wrong Door

As we have read this far Solomon has been teaching his readers about sex. He teaches about her words in Chapter 2 and verse 1
Her Words:
Pro 2:16    To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
Her Paths:
Pro 2:18    For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead
Her Lips:
Proverbs 5:3 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
Remove Yourself From Her Presents:
Proverbs 5:8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
Don't listen to her words, don't follow her path, don't allow yourself to be drawn in by the sweetness of her speech. Then we are taught to remove ourselves far from her, we are taught not to come close to her door. The teaching is don't listen to her talk don't watch her walk for if you do you will be drawn to her door. A door once it's open may lead you into something you really don't want. We live in a day of many sexual doors; there's the billboard door, the restaurant door, the magazine door at the check out line, simple doors which will lead to much bigger doors. Once one walks through a door they are subject to the smooth oil talk. The sweetness of the honey may have captured their attention but it’s the smoothness of the talk that keeps them. Therefore don't come close to the door of her house for you have no business in her house; once you have entered her house you'll wreck your home.

Who Wouldn't Want That?

Proverbs 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;
Chapter one starts off with Solomon; why is it so important to know what Solomon had to say?
1 Kings 3:7 And now, O Lord my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child: I know not how to go out or come in.
1 Kings 3:9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
1 Kings 3:12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
We should take note of what Solomon has to say because God made him to be the wisest man that has ever lived. Therefore what he has to say will teach me how to live as well as what decisions to make in this life. After we are told that we are to read the proverbs of Solomon the first two words we read in verse two are "To Know." If I listen to the instructions of Solomon then I will receive instruction of wisdom, justice, judgment and equity; (the quality of being fair.)
Proverbs 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;
I'm to know then I will become aware of words of understanding. Who wouldn't want that?
