Remember

There are some things worth remembering and then there are some things we hope we never remember. I have noticed the older I get the less likely I am to remember some things. My wife will ask me to do something and I will have all intentions of doing it and then I forget all about it. I don’t do that on purpose but I just don’t remember to do it. I can remember the very first time I saw my wife; not knowing that she would one day be my wife; what a great day that was. I can remember what was going on the day my oldest son was born. I can remember what was going on when my daughter was born. I remember what was going on the day my youngest son was born, there was a lot happening then; he was the first baby I ever saw come into this world. What an experience; I’ll never forget it. There are many things I can remember but you know there are some things that if we don’t keep them close in our mind they may not mean as much to us. I believe many affairs would never have happened had those persons remembered and refreshed their minds with their mates. All that being said I want to think about what the Lord told us to do.
1Corinthians 11:23  For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1Corinthians 11:24  And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Corinthians 11:25  After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Corinthians 11:26  For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
The Lord says I want you to do this and when you take part of the Lords Supper I want you to remember what it stands for. As you take the bread I want you to remember my body that was broken for you. Did you get it, not everybody but “YOU” I want you to remember it was for you? Then I want you to take the cup and I want “YOU” to remember that it was my blood that was shed for you and every time you do this REMEMBER what has been done for “YOU.” I am afraid we can get so busy with our daily activities that we just forget what all the Lord has done for us. There needs to be a time we stop what we are doing and remember His goodness to us and what He has done for us. In other words turn off the junk in your life and remember the Lord.
