Something to Think About 🤔

Hebrews 9:19 (KJV) For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

As I read this verse the phase “the book” caught my attention. The, a definite article which is referring to a definite book. Now what book is being referred to here? In the New Testament this phrase is mentioned 27 times in 25 verses. We read about “the book” first in  Matthew 1:1 (KJV) The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. As we look further we read of “The Book of Moses Mark 12:26  the book of the words of EsaiasLuke 3:4 the book of Psalms”  Luke 20:42 the book of the prophetsActs 7:4 It's not hard to tell that “the book” is the Bible for that’s where you read of Moses, Isaiah, Psalms and the prophets. But then we read of, another book “The Book of Life”. That's interesting. Could it be that our names were written in the Book of Life at our birth? That may be true  2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God has made a way for all to go to heaven, it’s a gift. If God doesn’t want any to go to hell and it’s God's will that none should perish then to me this makes perfect sense after I read this Exodus 32:32 (KJV) Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written. What is Moses asking? What book? I say he is saying blot my name out of the Book of Life. Wow, that's a powerful love for others. God didn’t blot Moses name from the book and God’s not going to do that to you or me either; unless you reject the gift of salvation Jesus Christ. Now that’s something to think about.
