Hebrews 9:14 (KJV) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
As I read Hebrews 9:14 one more time the Lord had these two words jump out at me. It always amazes me how you can read God’s Word one day and then read the same verses the next day and God shows or brings something back to your mind. It was a long time ago, 25 plus years ago. I heard a Preacher preach and he titled his message “The Much More Family.” Then he preached out of Romans chapter 5. In Romans 5 the phrase “Much More” is mentioned 5 times. No where else is the phrase Much More mentioned that many times in one chapter. Much More is mentioned 25 times in the New Testament and 15 times in the Old Testament. You may say, big deal. Well yes it is a big deal. What would you say if you were to go to the bank and the teller told you “We have a big promotion going on for our customers. Let me ask you sir the check you are cashing is only $500 would it be alright if we were to give you back much more? Now what do you say? If you were to say NO you can stop reading here.
Here in Hebrews 9 we read “How much more shall the blood of Christ”
Now let's look at Romans chapter 5
Romans 5:9 (KJV) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. I love it! Much More shall the blood of Jesus Christ now justify [just as if it never happened] We shall be saved from the wrath to come through Jesus Christ. But as we hear the TV commercial say “but that’s not all.”
Romans 5:10 (KJV) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, {brought into friendship from a state of disagreement or enmity}
we shall be saved by his life. We were enemies, that’s past tense, what changed? We were brought into friendship from a state of disagreement or enmity. How? By the death of Jesus Christ God's Son. God’s Children have MUCH MORE than we could ever imagine. There are 3 more “MUCH MORES”
Romans 5:15 (KJV) But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Romans 5:17 (KJV) For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
Romans 5:20 (KJV) Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: RU in the “MUCH MORE” Family? Why Not? Don’t you want MUCH MORE?
