2 Thessalonians 3:6 (KJV) Now we command you, yybrethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

Now, sometimes expresses or implies a connection between the subsequent and preceding proposition. What was the preceding proposition? Verse 1 that the Word of the Lord may have free  course.

Why? Verse 2 deliverance 

Verse 3 keep you from evil 

Verse 4 confidence in the Lord 

Verse 5 direction.

NOW “withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly” But you say they are my friends and I would say I agree with you. When I trusted Christ as my Lord and Savior my personal life changed dramatically. The things I like doing, well I didn’t anymore. Why was that? Was I now better than my friends? No not by a long shot. I wanted my friends to have what I had and tried to reach out to them. The more I tried the more they withdrew and soon we became distant. I never quit being their friend, we just weren't hanging around with each other. Today many years later I call them to see how they are doing and we talk and I still want them to have what I have. You know maybe I got an overdose of salvation. If I did that’s ok for I have seen God do the impossible. My Heavenly Father has given me words of encouragement as He spoke to me from His Book as I read it during the darkest hours of my life. Sometimes one just has to withdraw from those who will draw them back. If you were going to a college to be a doctor or lawyer or accountant would you hang with those who would pull you backwards? I know a young man who withdrew himself from his friends to become an electrical engineer. He would go to school and come home, go to his bedroom and study. I know because he was my son. I went to him and asked him why? This is what he told me “he said daddy I don’t just want to know it works I want to know why it works.” You know what? I’m the same way I don’t want to just have a Bible, I want to know what that Bible really says. Sometimes one just has to withdraw so they can know.
