👩‍🌾Just Ask🫵

Ask for Forgiveness, not for permission and please don’t put it off, do it now!

And forgive us our debts

Over extended, overdrawn, there just is not enough in the account. The rent is due and the money, well it’s not there. Well why not? Christmas took more than was expected, they went up on the price of the gas that I heat my home with. Got any more reasons or excuses? I sure we could come up with more if needed. My job requires me to work by appointments dates and times. I wish I could say I was there on time every time but no that’s not the case. Now when I arrive late I say “I’m sorry;” like that makes everything alright. Then I tell them why I’m late, like that makes it alright, it doesn’t. Then I say “if those excuses aren’t enough I can come up with some more.” Then I say “well the truth is I’m late and it’s my fault please forgive me.”

This is the way we should pray “Lord forgive me it’s my fault.

  • It’s my fault I said what I said in a tone that I shouldn’t have.
  • Lord forgive me I should have never thought that.
  • Lord, I'm so sorry I didn’t do what you wanted me to.

No matter what,  we must realize and understand that it is to our advantage to ask the Lord to forgive us our sins.

  • 1 John 1:8 (KJV) If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
  • 1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we say we have not sinned we are only deceiving ourselves.

Question? Can we say we have never taken anything that wasn’t our?

As I looked in my toolbox I noticed a wrench oh no that’s not mine my friend let me use it and I never returned it. I can’t return it. He died 2 years ago. Well you can’t really call that stealing I just forgot. That’s a good compromise,  you ask to borrow and never return and now you lie to yourself and say it’s not the same. Looks like a liar and a thief.

What I’m saying is we all have sinned, we all have come short. God says just realize that you have and ask for forgiveness.

On a day in April long ago a young man was in a Church service. On that Sunday morning he understood that he was a sinner and that Jesus had already paid his sin debt long ago. On that morning he came to an altar and asked God to forgive him of his sin. That young man said that he knew that God had forgiven him and the sin debt was paid in full. Then one day shortly after that a bad word came right out of his mouth. Oh my he thought why did I say that? Why do I feel so bad? I have been using words like that for years and never gave it a thought. After all that God has done for me I say that. That’s great, why would I say that? Well first of all it’s in the answer “Oh my he thought why did I say that? Why do I feel so bad?” Because of what God had done forgiven all my sin. God through the Holy Spirit which now lives within is teaching him.

  • John 14:17 (KJV) Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
  • John 14:26 (KJV) But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

When the Holy Spirit brings to your mind that what you just did is wrong we then should go to our Heavenly Father asking for forgiveness.

  • 1 John 1:9 (KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Just because we sinned, did wrong or bad doesn’t mean we aren’t in the family.
