Hebrews 9:14 (KJV) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Understanding somewhat about the atonement for the sins of the people up until the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We read these word “How much more shall the blood of Christ” then we read Hebrews 9:15 (KJV) And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
Hebrews 9:16 (KJV) For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Make all the promises you want to but there has to be more than word of mouth. I have heard many say after the death of their mother or dad; Daddy said he wanted me to have his…….. or Mother said she wanted me to have………and they may have very well have said that. But there is nothing written in their last will and testament saying that. The last will and testament is no good while the person is alive; it is only after their death that it is good. Is that not what we read in the verses before us? The Blood of Christ our redemption that we might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For the inheritance of the will to take effect it must be shown that the one who made it has died. All the way through the New Testament Jesus made promises of eternal life. On that day and place where they crucified Jesus Christ everything changed. The promises He made became real, things changed “the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom” Jesus paid the debt for sin forever Hebrews 9:12 (KJV) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
It’s not about what we can do or what we have done, it's about what Jesus Christ has already done for us! Stop and think for a moment. Jesus tells a convicted thief that today you will be with me in Paradise. So the first one we read about going to Paradise is a THIEF. OH MY๐ฑThe first one to see our risen Lord was a harlot. GOODNESS ME๐ณAre you getting the Picture Jesus came to seek and to save sinners not those who think they are good respectable people but sinners. The Apostle Paul, you know the one God used to write 13 out of 27 books of the New Testament said this about himself. 1 Timothy 1:15 (KJV) This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
