Another Level ๐ŸŽš️

Hebrews 11:17 (KJV) By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Haven't forgotten what “faith” is, have you? Faith is the Substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We have read about Abraham’s faith earlier in Hebrews 11. Remember by faith he went out not knowing. But now we are going to see his faith go to another level. To read about Abraham’s faith we will have to go to Genesis chapter 22. If you take the time to read that Chapter you’ll read of amazing faith. God tested Abraham’s faith. God asked Abraham to do the unthinkable,  the unbelievable; offer his only son Isaac. Just as Abraham was about to slay Issac, his son, God steps in and stops him. Why? It’s a word picture looking into the future when God would allow His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for a world full of sinners. By doing so Jesus would pay the sin debt for all mankind. The more faith we have the greater things we will behold. God is not going to ask you to sacrifice your son or daughter. But God may ask you to go to help others. My friend Phillip Allen was called by God to go to Brazil. Phillip had to learn a new language and a new culture. When he and his family arrived there no one in Brazil waiting or expecting them. They knew no one. Off they went and spent their lives doing what God Called them to do and when his life drew to an end he returned home, His heart was broken when he buried his wife. Then not long after his children said goodbye to their dad. Well what is the end of the story? No one knows yet for Phillip and Charlotte  Allen touched the lives of 1000’s in South America and the United States. Now the fruits of 1000’s have turned into only God knows. Phillip Allen was the first missionary I ever saw. He spoke in Chapel my first year in college. Then not long after that he came to our Church and showed slides of his work in Brazil. Over a period of time I got to know him and his wife. In 1986 I went to Brazil and spent 10 days with him and his family. I stayed in their home. I walked the street with him as he talked to the people. Oh what a wonderful 10 days that still burns in my heart some 38 years later. Well as I wrote earlier God stopped Abraham from killing his only son Issac but God didn’t stop those who killed His only Son Jesus. Why? Because Jesus paid the sin debt of mankind. Without His death we would have no hope. Jesus didn’t stay in the grave but arose, oh what a Savior.
