Gold

They are all over town; I’m talking about people standing on street corners waving signs that read “we buy gold.”  Television advertisements are telling you how easy it is to sell your gold Jewelry; just put in an envelope send it to this address and we will send you cash back in the mail. Would you say that there is a market for used gold? I think so. But think for a moment who would want your ring, necklace or whatever? They want it for the gold and the first thing they will do is put it in the furnace and melt it down. They will then remold it into something else more valuable.  In the book of Proverbs chapter 17 and verse 3 we read these words    The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
As I read that I noticed a fining pot and it was for silver but then we read that for the gold there was a furnace; what’s with that? The fining pot is a place for purifying; refiners of silver have their fining pots, in which they purify the silver from the dross. The goldsmith has their furnace to melt and purify their gold, by which they can assays the worth and value of it. Our hearts are much like gold and silver mixed with ore and dross. The dross must be separated by the Word of God and the furnace is liken to the affliction or fiery trials that come into our lives. Read with me 1Peter 4:12  Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
1Peter 4:13  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
Fiery trails are going to come our way; you did see it didn’t you “which is to try you” it didn’t say that might try you it said that which will try you. But in the sufferings there will be exceeding joy.  You see the goldsmith didn’t us the flame of his furnace to hurt the gold but only to purify it and make it more valuable and usable.  The flame reveals the condition of the gold and silver it softens the ore to liquid form so that it can be purified and molded into the shape that the master desires. Could that be the reason you and I face calamity, death of love ones, sickness, financial setbacks, accidents and hardships. You see the troubles you and I face will soften our heart and remove the dross from our heart.  Is that not what Job said
Job 23:10  But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
We have been told that those who have put their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ are in the family of God and are His children. John 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Godeven to them that believe on his name:
Romans 8:16  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
Galatians 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. Whatever happens to you and I we can rest assured that our Heavenly Father knows all about it and it is for our good. Romans 8:28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
What’s going on in your life right now that will make you glad and bring exceeding joy?

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
*Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
[*And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.]
Genesis 50:20  But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
