Confidence comes from being prepared
~John Wooden~
Communication is hard for me. I try to communicate with Siri, an Alexa. So I ask “hey Siri call Judy and Siri says, calling Richard,work. Before I can stop the call, Richard’s phone is telling him that I’m calling. Now I have already hung up before he has time to answer. So what does he do? Calls me back. I ask Alexa a question, Alexa tells me she can’t answer that. Go through the drive through and I can’t communicate with them either. Then there’s the love of my life who is on my mind a bunch. I will be driving and I say to myself tonight when I get home I want to talk with Judy about…. but then when I get home I never mention it. When communicating with my Heavenly Father, knowing He hears me. I ask Him something that’s troubling me. Then when He answers me either by a messenger that doesn’t know he or she is a messenger, I question, is this really my Heavenly Father. The Pastor when he preaches not having any idea what I ask God says let’s turn to: and where he turns is what I ask my Heavenly Father about. Have you ever had the fear of dying? What will it be like? Is Heaven going to be God’s sweatshop? I know that’s not so for we are the bride of Christ. Well, will it be like what I heard others say? We will be hunting and fishing, shopping and carrying for the little ones? Oh we will be having the times of our life. I don’t believe either one of those are accurate. I don’t know for sure. All I know is what the Bible tells me.
Psalms 116:15 (KJV) Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.
1 Kings 2:1 (KJV) Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
1 Kings 2:2 (KJV) I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;
There’s no escape we all must face that day. Oh I don’t want to think about that. Oh but one must think about it. Sticking one’s head in the sand doesn’t do away with the fact that your day is coming.
Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV) I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Jesus said John 10:28 (KJV) And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Knowing that day is coming and doing nothing in preparation for that day is sticking your head in the sand. What do you think will change your mind about the upcoming day? When you visit a doctor and they run tests to see what’s going on. The doctor tells you they found the problem. Then he tells you that you only have 6 to 8 months to live. Now your head is out of the sand and your eyes are wide open. What will you do now? Ecclesiastes 12:13 (KJV) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 (KJV) To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:2 (KJV) A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
Are you prepared?
