We have been talking about little things that are not just wise but exceeding wise. We have talked about the “ant” and the “conies.” Today I want to write about the “locusts.”
Proverbs 30:27 The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;
The first thing I see is that they have no king, leader or guide yet they with wisdom go forth in swarms by instinct and become an invading army. The very first time we see locusts in the Bible is in Exodus chapter 10 where God uses them as a curse to the Egyptians. They came in and destroyed the land.
Exodus 10:13 And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
Exodus 10:14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt: very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
Exodus 10:15 For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left: and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, through all the land of Egypt. My friend, there are those who with great precision have or have tried to destroy your life and relationships; they have beaten you down and told you that you were worthless. Then maybe you have allowed other things to overtake you drugs, alcohol, sex, bitterness, anger or maybe you have been hurt and you refuse to forgive another. May I say that there is help for what the locusts have destroyed? The enemy is good at destroying you telling you have gone too far, no one cares about you anyways, you’ll one day end up in hell, God only helps those who help themselves. LIES, LIES, LIES, from the LIAR himself!
John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. {That word “lusts” is only two letters short of “locusts” Wow the locusts of lust!!!!}
Don’t believe there’s no help for as wise as the locusts are there is one much wiser
Joel 2:25 And I(God) will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.
Joel 2:26 And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
God said that He would restore what the locust had destroyed. So much so that you will eat in plenty and be satisfied; He said that you would become so satisfied that you will realize that it wasn’t you that did it and you will praise God for what He had done and not be ashamed. I love what Daniel said to King Nebuchadnezzar Daniel 2:28 But there is a God in heaven You better know that there is and He is in the restoring business!
