Purpose

There’s just no escaping the fact that everyone dies sooner or later from one cause or another. It’s a good reminder of just how fleeting our lives are. James says this about our life- James 4:14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.  Our life is gone so fast compared to eternity it is like a vapor coming from a steaming pot. In a world of 6.8 billion people, it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that in God’s story, every person matters. You may feel sometimes like just a little dot in the crowd of other dots! Don’t forget  what God said to Jeremiah also applies to each one of us.
Jeremiah 1:5  Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; You see in God’s story, you and I matter! We may not be able to see beyond the current day of our lives or how our lives will be play out but God has plans for you and I. That is why we just celebrated Christmas; that’s why Jesus came, that’s why He made the statement that He must be about his Fathers business. His Fathers business was that He would die for our sins so you and I could accept the free gift and go to a place called heaven. Don’t feel like you are just a dot among others dots because you’re not; you were so important that God knew you before He formed you, you were made for a purpose. Do you know your purpose and are you doing it? God wants each of us to know what His Son did for each of us, so don’t get so caught up in everyday life that you miss your purpose. Have a great week for this is the last one this year.
